Benefits to Partnering

previousClass1Listos benefits from partnering with other organizations in that we are allowed to use our resources to teach the class as opposed to recruiting participants for the class. Partners benefit in that the Listos curriculum can augment their existing educational programs while also reinforcing community collaboration. Listos encourages leadership and active citizenship, engaging community members with a curriculum that focuses on working together and strengthening communities. Partnering agencies can then use that established community leadership structure to benefit their own goals and objectives. Listos brings people together to talk about disaster preparedness, but it results in so much more. It promotes  stronger communities and increased leadership, as the skills learned serve people not only during but also prior to disasters. By getting to know the other members of their community, Listos participants also take on a more active role in the well-being of their neighborhoods.

What is required to partner?

In order to partner with Listos, all you need is an interest in benefiting your community, the willingness to support and recruit class members, and the ability to make copies of the training manual for all participants and provide a place to hold the Listos workshop.
